Chennai to host global education summit

The India Global Education Summit (IGES) to be held on January 28 and 29

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government, in association with the National Indian Students and Alumni Union – UK (NISAU) and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO), will host a two-day summit at Kalaivanar Arangam in the city.

The India Global Education Summit (IGES) to be held on January 28 and 29, aims to position Tamil Nadu as a leading global education and knowledge hub by bringing together policymakers, global education leaders, universities, investors, industry stakeholders, and international delegations from over 20 countries.

The summit will feature four thematic stages, leaders' roundtables, sector-focused workshops, a Business to Business (B2B) expo, and an exclusive deal room, facilitating collaboration and investment opportunities across higher education, skilling, research, and innovation.

The core objective of this summit is to position TN's educational capabilities globally. Through prior registration, students will also have the opportunity to participate in and benefit from the summit.

CM MK Stalin and Deputy CM Udhayanidhi will participate in the event. The summit is convened by TRB Rajaa, Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce, and Govi Chezhiaan, Minister for Higher Education.
