Southern Railway on Tuesday announced that the Suburban trains were cancelled in Chennai on Wednesday from 10 am until further notice as part of the precautionary measures taken for the Cyclone Nivar.

It further announced that the Railway services would vary in accordance to the cyclone update until 10 am on Wednesday.

Earlier, it also announced that the train movement from Chennai to Southern Districts and vice versa were cancelled on Wednesday.

The government is taking several precautionary measures to control the cyclone damage that might be sustained when Nivar cyclone passes through the city.
