Retired scientist dies after lorry rams bike in Tiruvallur

CHENNAI: An 81-year-old man, a senior citizen, was killed in a road accident on Tuesday in Tiruvallur after a lorry hit his two-wheeler from behind.

The deceased was identified as Benjamin (81), a retired scientist with the Indian Council of Medical Research.

The police said that he was riding his two-wheeler along JN Road after refuelling at a fuel station when the accident happened.

He was first admitted to Tiruvallur Government Medical College Hospital and later shifted to a private hospital in Porur, where he died. Tiruvallur Town police have registered a case and are investigating.
