CHENNAI: Chennai police's Kaaval Karangal initiative has reunited a 65-year-old woman with her family, ten days after her family members reported her missing.

The woman, who is speech and hearing impaired, had intended to travel to Kodungaiyur to a relative's house from her residence in Muthialpet, police said.

The elderly woman who lost her way was eventually rescued by the Semmenchery police (Tambaram City police limits), who housed her in a home for the elderly in Mudichur.

The woman's photograph was shared with police stations, and it was found that a missing person complaint at Muthialpet police station matched the description of the elderly woman, and the police reached out to the family members.
