Chennai police launch hunt for rash driving 'Santa Claus'

CHENNAI: The police have launched a search for a bike rider, who dressed up as Santa Claus and performed dangerous stunts on his two-wheeler on the Maduravoyal–Tambaram bypass road.

The video that was uploaded on Wednesday evening went viral on social media, after which police launched a search for the rider.

In the video clip, the rider dressed in Santa Claus outfit, including a mask but without wearing a helmet, is seen making risky manoeuvres on the road, much to the chagrin of the other road users. After the video went viral, several social media users condemned the rider for the reckless act.

The bypass road has been misused by youngsters, including for auto-rickshaw and bike races. Further investigations are on.
