Chennai: Man snatches woman's chain at bus stop, arrested

CHENNAI: The Chennai police arrested a man who grabbed a gold chain from a woman on an MTC bus. The victim, Revathi of Chintadripet, was travelling on a bus plying on route 29A.

When the bus halted at Hotel Dasaprakash stop, the accused ran towards the bus and snatched Revathi's chain. She clung to her valuables, and the accused fled with a part of the chain.

Hearing her scream, a nearby traffic cop chased and caught the man. The man, Saran (26) of Vyasarpadi, was a serial offender and was handed over to the Kilpauk police. The stolen gold chain was recovered from him. He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
