CHENNAI: Gold prices remained steady on Thursday, April 30, following a sharp drop of Rs 1,200 on April 29.

The yellow metal is priced at Rs 1,11,200 per sovereign and Rs 13,900 per gram, with no change.

Gold rate today vs same day last year

Gold remains significantly higher compared to last year. Prices have surged from Rs 71,840 per sovereign (Rs 8,980 per gram) on April 30, 2025, to Rs 1,11,200 per sovereign (Rs 13,900 per gram) on April 30, 2026, marking an increase of Rs 39,360 or about 54.77%.
