Chennai: Gold prices surge by Rs 560, silver remains stable on March 26, 2026

CHENNAI: Gold prices in the city continue to rise, increasing by Rs 560 per sovereign (8 grams) on March 26.

The shiny metal is now priced at Rs 1,09,360 per sovereign and Rs 13,670 per gram, a rise of Rs 70.

On March 25, the yellow metal was priced at Rs 1,08,800 per sovereign and Rs 13,600 per gram.

Silver remains stable

Silver prices remain stable, continue selling for Rs 260 (Rs 2,60,000 per kg) on March 26.

Gold remains significantly higher compared to last year. Prices have surged from Rs 65,560 per sovereign (Rs 8195 per gram) on March 26, 2025, to Rs 1,09,360 per sovereign (Rs 13,670 per gram) on March 26, 2026, marking an increase of Rs 43,800 or about 66.80%.
