Chennai gold price dips by Rs 1,120, silver costs Rs 280 per gram on March 14, 2026

CHENNAI: Gold price decreased in the city on Saturday (March 14), by Rs 1120 per sovereign (8 grams), the thirteen day of the the West Asia war.

The yellow metal is priced at Rs 1,18,080 per sovereign and Rs 14,760 per gram, decreased by Rs 140.

On March 13, a day earlier, gold cost Rs 1,19,200 per sovereign and 14,900 per gram.

Silver prices decrease

Silver  decreased by Rs.10 to be priced at  Rs 280 per gram (Rs 2,80,000 per kg) on March 14. A day earlier silver was priced at Rs 290 per gram.

Gold rate today vs gold rate on this day, last year

Gold remains significantly higher compared to last year. Prices have surged from Rs 66,000 per sovereign (Rs 8,300 per gram) on March 14, 2025, to Rs 1,18,080per sovereign (Rs  14,760 per gram) on March 11, 2026, marking an increase of Rs 52,080, or about 78.90%.
