CHENNAI: CMRL completes 52nd and final intermediate overhauling of its fleet

CMRL has been operating Metro train services since 2015 with a fleet of 52 four-car trains.

To ensure passenger safety, comfort and punctuality, all Metro trains undergo regular and planned maintenance at fixed intervals.

In addition, every train undergoes an intermediate overhaul once before major overhauling, known as IOH.

During this major overhaul, the train is thoroughly dismantled and inspected and important systems such as brakes, electrical equipment are completely serviced.

The interiors and exteriors of the train are deeply cleaned using environment-friendly materials to ensure hygiene and passenger comfort.

Later, the train undergoes a series of detailed safety and performance tests.

Only after meeting all safety and performance standards is the train certified fit for passenger service by the competent authority.

The 52nd train was flagged off for revenue service by Manoj Goyal, Director (Systems and Operations), along with other senior officials of CMRL.
