Chennai: 22 people succumbed to corona in 24 hours

Reports said that around 22 have died due to Coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

As per reports from the Health Department, 827 persons tested positive for Coronavirus, taking the total tally to 19,372, as on Thursday evening.

The deaths on Thursday with 12 persons breathing their last took the death toll to 145. Meanwhile, the death toll in chennai had a spike in  the 24 hours as 22 people succumbed to the pandemic.

A total of 639 Covid-19 patients were discharged from various hospitals in the state taking the total tally to 10,548.

The state capital, Chennai with its high density of population continued to see the highest number of infections at 559, taking its total tally to 12,762.

Meanwhile, latest reports said that around 22 people have died in Chennai in 24 hours. The highest toll was reported in Rajiv Gandhi Hospital with 8, 7 from Stanley Hospital, 4 from Omanthoorar Hospital and 2 in Kilpauk Hospital.

So far 6 out of 15 zones in Chennai have been severly affected by corona virus of which Royapuram stands the top with the highest infections of 2,324.
