Central team inspects flood-affected areas in Chennai

As reported earlier, an inter-Ministerial Team from Centre, began its inspection on the damages caused by the recent Cyclone Nivar in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

The Central Government had deployed a Central Team to make an on-the-spot inspection of the damages due to the Cyclone Nivar in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The team arrived in the city yesterday and had briefed its procedures with the TN CM.

The team is led by Union Home Ministry Joint Secretary Ashutosh Agnihotri is represented by the central departments of Agriculture, Highways, Finance, Power, Rural Development, Fisheries and Water Resources.

This eight-member Central team led by Central Home Deputy Secretary inspects post cyclonic devastation and review flood-affected areas in Chennai today.

Further to it, this team will be travelling to other districts namely, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Vellore and Tirupattur, besides Puducherry till Monday. After their return to Chennai on Tuesday, they would hold discussions with State government officials.
