Central govt staff slips from terrace, succumbs to injury

Preliminary inquiries revealed that Karthikeyan went to the terrace of his residence to water the plants on Sunday evening. He was allegedly sitting on the short parapet wall on the terrace and slipped accidentally.

CHENNAI: A 39-year-old man allegedly slipped and fell to death from the terrace of his two-storey house in Kolathur on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Karthikeyan who works in the Principal Accountant General’s office in Teynampet. Police said that Karthikeyan lived with his family in Kamaraj street, Venkateshwara nagar.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that Karthikeyan went to the terrace of his residence to water the plants on Sunday evening. He was allegedly sitting on the short parapet wall on the terrace and slipped accidentally.

Family members moved him to a hospital nearby. He succumbed to injuries late Sunday night. Rajamangalam police have registered a case and are investigating.
