CHENNAI: The fifth edition of Karaikudi Sandhai, a unique cultural and entrepreneurial exhibition showcasing the rich legacy of Chettinad, will be held on January 4. Held every year, Karaikudi Sandhai has grown into a significant cultural platform that showcases the essence of Chettinad in Chennai.
The event offers visitors a comprehensive experience of authentic Chettinad cuisine, traditional products, handcrafted items and heritage jewellery, all under one roof.
Speaking about the event, the Chairman of Karaikudi Nagarathar Sangam, Chennai, said that Karaikudi Sandhai was initiated to preserve and promote Chettinad culture among the public. “This heritage event allows people to experience the flavours, craftsmanship and traditions of Chettinad in a single venue,” he said.
The event showcases authentic Chettinad cotton and silk sarees, heritage jewellery, traditional art, spices and handicrafts, along with an immersive Chettinad culinary experience, including the iconic Thalaivazhai Ilai lunch.
A key highlight this year is the focus on fempreneurs and kidpreneurs (aged 7–17), offering visibility to women-led ventures and young entrepreneurs who are entering the business ecosystem at an early age. The event will be held at the Sri Ramachandra Convention Centre, Thiruvanmiyur.
