Burglars decamp with 32 sovereign gold ornaments in Chengalpattu

Boopathi registered a complaint at the Chengalpattu Thaluk police station and the police are trying to identify the intruders with the help of CCTV footage.

CHENNAI: Unidentified intruders decamped with 32 sovereign gold ornaments from a house in Chengalpattu on Tuesday. The incident happened at the house of Boopathi (49) of Melamaiyur in Chengalpattu, a government school teacher in Poigainallur village near Maduranthagam. On Monday night Boopathi along with his wife and two children went to bed. In the morning when they tried to come outside the room they were unable to open the door. Soon Boopathi contacted a neighbour and they found the main door broken and the bedroom was locked outside. Later the neighbours rescued them. When they checked the other room, they found the locker broken and 32 sovereign gold ornaments missing. Boopathi registered a complaint at the Chengalpattu Thaluk police station and the police are trying to identify the intruders with the help of CCTV footage.
