Speaking to reporters at the party headquarters in the city on Thursday, BJP state unit president Dr Tamiliasi Soundrarajan said that they accepted the people’s verdict in the Assembly election. “From now on, the party would publicise Narendra Modi government’s good schemes in the state and work vigorously to root out the Dravidian parties in the civic and parliamentary elections,” she added.

Dr Tamilisai said that the May 16 election result was a lesson to the party cadre.

Meanwhile, the mood at Kamalalayam at T Nagar was calm as a few party functionaries and cadre watched news channels when the results were declared during the day without much reaction.
