After his arrest following the controversial birthday party last year, Binu had managed to obtain conditional bail on March 21. However, Binu did not appear before the police since then and went into hiding. 

As they were hunting for the repeat offender, the police received a tip-off that Binu has been hiding at a farmhouse in Dhanipoondi village in Tiruvallur district along with his aide Jayaprakash of Vellore. After ascertaining the veracity of the information, a team of police personnel from the Pathirivedu police picked him up on Saturday.

Binu in a video released by police after he was arrested last year alleged that he was not a gangster as he is referred to and had stayed away from goondaism.
