CHENNAI: Bad weather conditions, notably strong wind, and heavy rains at Chennai airport continued to delay flight services on Sunday. Notably, a Singapore flight was diverted back to Bengaluru after failing to land.

Indigo Airlines passenger plane which was set to land in Chennai at 1:50 pm today carrying 178 passengers on board from Singapore was also hindered due to the weather condition and was directed to Bengaluru.

A similar situation occurred with 3 Indigo Airlines passenger planes from Rajamahendravaram, Visakhapatnam, and Kochi that were unable to land in Chennai and were instead continuously circling the sky.

Additionally, 5 flights from Chennai, including those to Sharjah, Surat, Coimbatore, Kannur, and Thoothukudi, took off after schedule.

The three aircraft that were circling the sky subsequently made one-by-one landing in Chennai at about 2.30 p.m. When the rains subsided, at 3 pm, the Bengaluru-bound flight made its way back to Chennai.
