CHENNAI: It may be noted that his complaint has led to HR&CE taking over the mandapam after a prolonged court battle. Ramani, who is a life member of Sri Ram Samaj and an ex-president, had made allegations of swindling of fund at the Ram Samaj. It was alleged that the Samaj also received gold and silver as contributions by the devotees and there were no proper records maintained of the hundi collections. After the HR&CE took over the administration of the mandapam Ramani reportedly received open threats and based on his complaint, the city police have provided an armed personal security officer for his safety.
