The incident took place around 5 pm in Choudry Nagar, said police. Sources said that Santhanam had given a huge sum to Shanmuga Sundaram, a real estate promoter, for business.
On Monday evening, the actor along with three other men went to Shanmuga Sundaram’s office and asked for the money.
An argument erupted between the two sides and it soon turned into a brawl. In the scuffle, Shanmuga Sundaram’s legal adviser Prem Ananth, who is also a local BJP functionary, suffered on his injuries in face and was admitted to a private Hospital for treatment.
Santhanam is also said to have been injured in the incident and he was reportedly discharged from another private hospital in Vadapalani after first aid. Valasaravakkam police said that Santhanam too has filed a counter complaint of attack by Shanmuga Sundaram and others.
