CHENNAI: A 25-year-old woman, identified as a student of Anna University, died by suicide by jumping into the Cooum river from the Napier Bridge on Kamarajar Salai on Tuesday.

The ID card that she left behind helped identify the woman as Yuvasri, daughter of Dananjayan from Perungulathur, and a second-year MBA student at Anna University.

It was a two-wheeler rider who spotted a woman jumping from the bridge and informed a traffic policeman. The policeman alerted the Anna Square Law and Order police. The police found a bag on the bridge. Inside, there was a mobile phone, an Anna University identity card, and a notebook. The book contained a note saying, "No one is responsible for my death," said officials.
