CHENNAI: Anna University has decided to create awareness about more job opportunities among the students for the recently introduced courses such as Bachelor in Vocational Logistics Management in Footwear Manufacturing under ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ scheme this academic year.

Stating that only five students were admitted for these two courses, the University vice-chancellor Dr R Velraj on Tuesday said the registration date for both the courses has been extended till October 31.

Pointing out that these courses were introduced in association with the Sector Skill Council, the vice chancellor claimed that there would not be any difficulty in getting job opportunities.

“Since students could get practical experience in the industries while studying these courses, employment generation will also be more,” he said adding that the duration of these two courses is three years. Velraj said that in future the state government is also planning to reduce BE seats as most of the students do not get job opportunities.
