CHENNAI: Actor Vijay has remitted an amount of Rs 500 as a penalty for violating traffic signal.
On Tuesday, while the actor was on his way to meet his organisation's office-bearers he didn't stop the car at ECR's Akkarai signal, according to sources.
Police action followed after television news crews trailing the actor's vehicle shot the traffic violation on camera.
While the fine amount has been paid, fans of the actor took to social media to question the media crews who too jumped the traffic signal and cameramen on two-wheelers following the actor's car and were not wearing helmets.
Under these circumstances, Vijay is reported to have remitted the fine amount online.
