A walk to learn about your backyard wildlife

We would have all spotted at least a few of those species within our backyards or neighbourhood parks, but wouldn’t have recognised them. Conservation start-up Thicket Tales has been holding walks in the city that are making common people also a part of insect, bird and animal conservation by familiarising them with different species of the fauna.

Their upcoming walk allows people, including children, to discover what their backyard holds and introduces them to the world of winged creatures. “We want people to have the knowledge of butterflies and birds that exist along with us and that they can also be part of conserving them. Just by ensuring that we have more plants at our homes, we can provide them with the green cover to lay eggs on,” Sai Devi, the founder of Thicket Tales, told us earlier.
