50 extra MTC buses to ease festival rush

MTC on Friday announced that it would operate 50 special buses during weekends for the convenience of the public to visit commercial centres for Deepavali purchases.

According to an MTC release, since Deepavali festival would be on November 14, the special buses would be operated for the public who visit areas like T Nagar, Purasaiwalkam and Vallalar Nagar for festival purchases.

 The special services would be operated for seven days – from October 24 to 26, October 31 and November 1, and November 7 and 8. The special buses would be operated on 25 routes from various parts of the city to T Nagar and Vallalar Nagar. The bus services include four special buseshe ying betwagar and Tambaram West and V51 be;tween T Nagar and Tambaram West, three bus;s in route no 19 plying from T Nagar to Tirupporur.
