In a statement, the MTC said that it would operate special buses to Anna Square, Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Kovalam, Kishkinta, Queensland, Besant Nagar, Broadway, Tambaram, Tiruvanmiyur and other tourist spots in various parts of Chennai and outskirts.
These buses would start at Tollgate, Avadi, Ayyappanthangal, Adyar, Karanodai, Perumpakkam, Kelampakkam, Kannaginagar, Red Hills, Kannadasan Nagar, Koyambedu, Poonamallee, Vadapalani, Ayanavaram, Perambur, Villivakkam, Sunguvarchatram, Naduveerapattu (Tambaram), Injampakkam, Tiruporur, Chengalpattu, Madhavaram, Pattabiram, KK Nagar, Ambattur, Guindy and T Nagar.
Meanwhile, Chennai Metro Rail announced the operation of special feeder service for Kaanum Pongal from Government Estate and AG-DMS metro stations to Marina Beach.
