4 nabbed for attempting to steal money from Tambaram ATM

The security officers when checking the CCTV found a group of men trying to break into the ATM

CHENNAI: Police arrested four men who attempted to steal money from an ATM in Tambaram on Friday.

The State Bank ATM kiosk situated in the Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ). On Friday around 2.30 am the emergency alarm triggered in the State Bank Control room in New Delhi. Soon, the security officers when checking the CCTV found a group of men trying to break into the ATM.

The police control room was immediately informed and Tambaram police team, that rushed to the police surrounded the four men who were trying to loot money. The police identified them as Rajesh Kumar (22), of Sirkazhii, Anbalagan (19) of Potheri, Manikandan (20) of West Tambaram, and Arun Kumar (20) of Sholinganallur. They seized the hammer and other tools from them and the four of them were arrested. The police are inquiring whether they had already been involved in any theft or robbery.
