3D and 7D theatres to be set up at Arignar Anna Zoological park

CHENNAI: Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Vandalur will have a 'zootorium' as the state environment, climate change and forest department has issued a government order allocating funds to set up the facility.

As per the order, the zootorium will have 3D and 7D theatre at the old auditorium within the zoo premises. A new zoo museum and an interpretation complex with an interactive display model will be set up enabling people to discover, explore and experience wildlife in a new way.

The department has given an administrative sanction of Rs. 4.36 Crore to set up the facility under Tamil Nadu Innovation Initiatives (TANII). The duration of the project is three years.

The objectives of the project, as per the order, are to instil a sense of urgency among people about the wildlife conservation issue, to bring a perceptible positive change in the minds of young generation towards the need to protect wild animals in their habitat and to create a sense of curiosity in young minds about wildlife and nature conservation.
