CHENNAI: Around 3,000 police personnel have been deployed in Chennai as part of security arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit, according to a Daily Thanthi report.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit the city on Friday and Saturday (April 3 and 4). He is expected to arrive in Chennai by private flight at around 3.20 pm on Friday and later travel to Puducherry by helicopter to take part in the election campaign.
He will return to Chennai in the evening and stay overnight at a star hotel in Guindy. During the night, Modi is also scheduled to meet BJP leaders and discuss election strategies.
On Saturday, he is expected to leave Chennai for Kerala at around 1 pm.
In view of the PM's visit, areas around Guindy and Meenambakkam have been declared red zones. The police have also banned the flying of drone cameras and Unnamed Aerial objects (UAO).
