3 mall workers test positive, visitors alerted

After three workers of an outlet at Phoenix Mall in Velachery were tested positive for COVID-19, the Greater Chennai Corporation urged people, who had visited the mall to be safe and contact seek immediate medical care by calling the civic body.

“Anyone, who visited the Phoenix Mall, especially the Lifestyle outlet between March 10 and March 17 and all the employees, who work inside the mall are advised to stay cautious and to seek immediate medical care by calling us on 044 25384520 and 044 46122300, if you develop any COVID19 symptoms,” the Chennai Corporation has tweeted.

Also, the civic body kept all the employees working in the outlet in home quarantine. In a similar announcement on Tuesday, the civic body had requested the persons who had visited Visa Application Centre at Nungambakkam on March 15 to isolate themselves and contact the control room functioning in Ripon Buildings.

“Several calls are coming from those who had visited the Visa Application Centre. However, we ask

them to come for testing if they feel any symptoms of the disease. We ask asymptomatic persons to stay isolated,” an official posted in the control room said.
