26-year-old man held for stealing phone in Triplicane

CHENNAI: Zam Bazaar police arrested a 26-year-old man who stole a mobile phone from a man sleeping in his house in Triplicane.

The victim, Murugan (52) who works with a gas agency returned home late on March 31, left the door open and fell asleep.

The next morning, he found his mobile phone missing and filed a police complaint.

Police zeroed in on the suspect and arrested Arunkumar of Gandhi Nagar, Pallavan Salai and recovered Murugan’s phone and another handset stolen from Ice House area.

Arunkumar works at a phone shop in Chintadripet. He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
