CHENNAI: A 24-year-old man who was on the lookout by the Nagapattinam police was detained at Chennai airport on Tuesday.
Immigration officials were checking the passengers who arrived from Dubai on Tuesday morning. When they scanned the documents of Surya Prakash of Velankanni, it was found that he was wanted by the Nagapattinam police.
Soon, the officials detained Surya Prakash and during the inquiry, they found that a murder case is pending against him in Velankanni police station and managed to escape aboard last year.
Later, Nagapattinam police SP issued LOC to all the airports across the country.
On Monday, he was arrested when returned from Dubai. Surya Prakash was handed over to the airport police and a special team from Nagapattinam would soon arrive in Chennai to arrest him.
