The accused Ajith Kumar of Semmanchery already has four similar cases pending against him. In connection with the burglary incidents, a special team combed the CCTV footage and fixed Ajithkumar as the suspect. However, Ajith Kumar fled to Salem fearing that police might catch him. Since Semmanchery police had shared his images across the State, Salem police arrested Ajithkumar during a vehicle check and handed him over to Chennai police. He was remanded on Sunday.
