They traced and arrested the car owner, Shajahan (36) of Park Street in Medavakkam, and search is on to nab three others who are absconding.

Passers-by on Tambaram-Velachery Road noticed an SUV parked on the side and informed the Selaiyur police as it was creating a traffic block. The police enquired about the vehicle. When they browsed the CCTV footages from a nearby building, the police found a group of men leaving after parking the car on the road. The police broke open the door and found red sanders logs in the vehicle. With the help of its registration number, the police traced the car’s owner. Sources said that the police searched his house at Medavakkam and found a few logs there, too. The police arrested Shajahan and he told the police that Moosha, the gang leader, smuggles red sanders from Andhra Pradesh.
