2 more nabbed for Rs 17.91L robbery attempt

The North Beach police have arrested two more people in connection with the Rs 17.91 lakh robbery attempt on December 12. The accused were identified as E Vasudevan (21) of Tondiarpet and M Vasantha Kumar (21) of Korukkupet.

The police had already arrested seven people in connection with the case, including two main accused – Mohammed Azar and Thamim Ansari. The incident happened when the complainant, Abu Bakkar alias Siddique, a staff at forex firm in Parry's Corner, was on his way to his employer's house in Triplicane with Rs 17.91 lakh.


He was attacked by a gang which escaped with another bag, while the one with the cash was found by a pedestrian and handed over to police.
