2 burglars held, jewels recovered

The police arrested two burglars and recovered 20 sovereigns of jewels from them on Sunday. Kamal (26) of Hemachandra Nagar in Minjur had gone to Tirupati along with his family in April.

When he returned, he found that the lock was broken open and 49 sovereigns of jewels were burgled. Based on his complaint, the police were searching for the suspects. On Sunday, the police secured two persons who tried to escape on seeing the police officers near Athipattu Pudhunagar. They were identified as Mohamed Farooq (31) and Sayeed Shakeel (36) of New Washermenpet. During investigation, they admitted to have burgled the house in Minjur.
