150 svgn gold ornaments looted from Irumbuliyur, Manimangalam

On Monday early morning when the family returned they found the backside door was broken and the gold jewels about 120 sovereigns which were kept inside the locker were missing.

CHENNAI: Police are searching for the unidentified intruders who decamped with 150 sovereign gold ornaments from two places in Irumbuliyur and Manimangalam on Monday.

Police said Jayaseelan, a businessman from Periyar Nagar in Irumbuliyur had went to visit his mother in their native in Sivagangai two days ago with his family.

On Monday early morning when the family returned they found the backside door was broken and the gold jewels about 120 sovereigns which were kept inside the locker were missing. Soon, the Tambaram police who visited the spot held injuries and a case was registered.

A search is on to nab the intruders with help of CCTV.

In another incident, Siva of Madambakkam near Guduvanchery went to his native and when he returned on Monday morning was shocked to see the front door broken and the 30 sovereign gold ornaments which were kept inside the locker were missing.

The Manimangalam police have registered a case and are searching for the intruders.
