143 Indians stranded in Philippines reach Chennai via special flight

As many as 143 Indians, who were stranded in Philippines for the last few months since flight services were stopped worldwide to prevent the spread of coronavirus, reached Chennai in a special flight late on Saturday night.

All the passengers, including 75 men, 65 women and three children were subjected to COVID-19 tests and sent for mandatory quarantine in government and paid facilities. The natives of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh were sent to the respective states by special vehicles. Meanwhile, the footfall of passengers was less at the domestic airport on Sunday due to the complete lockdown being implemented across the state.
