12-year-old succumbs to injuries after falling from terrace, probe on

A 12-year-old boy who fell from the terrace of a two-storey building in Tiruvottiyur on Sunday died on Tuesday morning without responding to treatment.

The deceased, S Suresh, lived with his parents Sukumar, a truck driver, and Nandini, and younger sister at a Housing Board building on Grama street. On Sunday, Suresh, a Class 5 student of a private school, went to the terrace to play. Later, his mother Nandini was alerted by neighbours around noon that her son was lying in a pool of blood in front of the house. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and then shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. However, he succumbed to injuries on Tuesday morning. The Tiruvottiyur police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
