11 women, 1 man held for gambling in Chetpet

The city police arrested 12 persons, including 11 women, for indulging in gambling and seized two decks of cards and Rs 18,680 in cash.

Based on a tip off, the Chetpet police searched a house at MS Nagar and found a gang of women gambling.

They were secured and brought to the station. A man who was detained from the premises was identified as M Durairaj (65) of Anna Nagar.

All 12 persons were arrested and released on station bail.
