CHENNAI: Jaya Hind Industries (JHI), a fully vertically integrated company with world-class tool manufacturing capabilities and a leading global supplier of precision aluminium die-cast components, has invested Rs 200 crore for the expansion of its Chennai manufacturing facility.

On Thursday, the company held the ground-breaking ceremony of its plant located in the industrial area of Kottaiyur Village, Thiruvallur district. This reaffirms the company’s long-term commitment to advanced manufacturing, capacity augmentation, and future-ready capabilities in India.

The expansion will house high pressure die casting (HPDC) machines ranging from 1,400 to 4,400 tonnes, enabling the production of a wide spectrum of components—from conventional internal combustion engine parts to EV components and large structural castings.

Supporting this growth, a new shed spanning nearly 13,000 sq metres is being planned for construction.

The Chennai plant will support JHI’s growing and diversified customer portfolio, including export customers such as Cummins (US), Generac (US), domestic OEMs like TVS Motor Company in the super-premium two-wheeler segment, and emerging EV module manufacturers.

The Chennai facility will have a planned installed capacity of approximately 20,000 tonnes per year.

Prasan Firodia, managing director, Jaya Hind Industries, said, “with strong order momentum across domestic and export markets, the Chennai facility will play a pivotal role in augmenting our die-casting capacity while deepening our vertical integration.”
