Japanese artist’s floral animal sculptures for latest art series win internet

The internet was awed by images of animal sculptures made with leaves, twigs and flowers, all thanks to the Japanese artist Raku Inoue. The artist, who is also a photographer, pointed out that his inspiration was Ikebana-the ancient and traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement. Raku stated that the latest images are part of an art series, ‘Natura Insects’, which features animals and insects, all created using flowers, stems, leaves and twigs from his garden. Raku recollected that during childhood, he would spend his summers at his grandmother’s house and one day, he picked up flowers from the ground and made his first floral insect-a dragonfly. Netizens were awed by his work as the artist not only made the specimens realistic but the usage of bright colours enhanced their features.
