CHENNAI: Netflix India South has revealed its Tamil film slate for 2026, confirming several high-profile projects that will stream on the platform after their theatrical runs
The 46th film of Suriya, directed by Venky Atluri, is described as a family drama. The cast includes Mamitha Baiju, Raveena Tandon, and Radikaa Sarathkumar. The film will be released in theatres first and then on Netflix after its theatrical run.
An action thriller starring Karthi, with Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead, directed by Tamizh. The film is slated for a summer 2026 theatrical release and will later arrive on Netflix.
A recently announced action thriller directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, featuring Dhanush with Sai Pallavi, expected as the female lead. It will stream on Netflix post-theatrical run.
After Suriya 46, Netflix has also bagged post theatrical rights for Suriya 47. It's the first collaboration with Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan. It's an action comedy film, starring Malayalam actors like Nazriya Nazim Fahadh and Naslen in key roles.
Dhanush’s 54th film, titled Kara and directed by Vignesh Raja, is described as an intense survival drama. The movie’s ensemble cast includes Mamitha Baiju, K S Ravikumar, Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas and Prithvi Pandiraj. Kara is set for a Summer 2026 theatrical release, and Netflix is expected to host it after its cinema run.
A romantic drama directed by Aakash Baskaran and starring Atharvaa Murali in the lead role. The film is set to hit theatres in February 2026 and will have its Netflix release afterwards.
The sequel to the Vishnu Vishal–Aishwarya Lekshmi starrer Gatta Kusthi, directed by Chella Ayyavu, will also be released in cinemas early in 2026 before streaming on Netflix.
