The recently-released poster of Yogi Babu’s upcoming film Cocktail has miffed netizens who lashed out at the makers. The poster has him in the makeover of Lord Muruga. When contacted, the director said, “We did not design Yogi Babu’s look with an intention to insult Lord Muruga. We haven’t portrayed him in bad light. Moreover, I’m a religious person myself and I wouldn’t do something that would hurt my religious sentiments. In fact, Yogi Babu himself is an ardent worshipper of Lord Muruga.” He also opened up about the story and said, “The crux of the story revolves around a Lord Muruga statue. We have designed the look based on that. There are children in school who dress up like Lord Muruga. Why does one have to disprove when we do the same in cinema?”.

He also added that Cocktail doesn’t promote alcoholism. “We have titled the film Cocktail based on the cockatoo bird in the poster,” concludedVijaya Murugan.
