CHENNAI: Actor Rajinikanth has taken the box office by storm, once again, with Vettaiyan. The film, released on October 10, has crossed Rs 240+ crore worldwide in just 5 days.
The makers officially announced the numbers with a poster on Monday.
Sharing the news on X, the makers wrote, "VETTAIYAN crosses 240+ crores worldwide and still counting! Thalaivar's dominance knows no bounds. The hunt continues (sic)."
Helmed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan has been receiving positive responses from both audience and critics.
The central premise of the film revolves around the flaws in the education system and issues surrounding fake encounters.
Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the film had an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier in pivotal roles.
Anirudh Ravichander composed the music for the film.
Vettaiyan was released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is currently shooting for Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
