We had earlier reported that Akshara Haasan will be playing a Carnatic singer in her upcoming film directed by Raja Ramamurthy and produced by Trend Loud. The latest is that veteran singer Usha Uthup, who was last seen in Kamal Haasan’s Manmadhan Anbu is back in Tamil with his daughter Akshara’s film. Talking to DTNext, Raja said, “The role will be in complete contrast with her real life. She is full of energy, enthusiasm and positivity and she had to keep it under control because the role doesn’t require it. That’s the reason why she accepted the role. She wanted to play a character that is opposite to her real-life persona. However, it was a lot of fun after shoot as she sang and cheered us all.”

He added that she plays a pivotal role in the film. “She will be seen in majority of the film with Akshara,” he concluded.
