Chennai
The director of the film Delhi Prasad Deenadayalan told DT Next, “I cannot reveal if Vijay Sethupathi is playing a dual role or his character has different shades to it. The poster doesn’t give away the storyline of the film and we have designed it that way.” The director said that the title of the film was inspired by Muhammad bin Tughlaq, the founder of Tughlaq dynasty. “The emperor is known for his policy swings and Vijay Sethupathi’s character is based on that. Tughlaq Durbar is a commercial entertainer with a blend of fantasy. It has a story backdrop of a political satire. It is about how a decision by a politician changes someone’s life,” Prasad explained.
Produced by Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio, the film has Manjima Mohan and Aditi Rao Hydari as leading ladies.
“We have completed 50 per cent of the shoot all done in Chennai. We will resume shooting immediately after the lockdown is lifted,” he added.
