CHENNAI: SV Ramanan, son of legendary director K Subramaniam, passed away at his residence in Chennai due to age-related illness on Monday.

He is known for his popular voice in radio advertisements and has directed films like Uruvangal Maralam. He has also directed documentaries and serials for Doordharshan.

Ramanan, who is survived by his wife and two daughters, is Anirudh's maternal grandfather.
