Director Bala, who hasn’t made an announcement yet after the Varma snub, is all set to go ahead with his next project. Reliable sources tell us that the director is currently focused on the pre-production work of his next. There have been reports that the film will have Suriya, Arya and Atharvaa playing male leads in the film. A reliable source close to the film told DT Next, “Only Arya and Atharvaa are playing lead roles while Suriya is playing a cameo similar to Avan Ivan.” Suriya has as many as four projects in the pipeline this year that includes Vaadivaasal directed by Vetrimaaran and an untitled project with Hari. The source added that Bala’s will go on floors in March. “The story is set in the backdrop of Madurai and is in the final stages of pre-production. Apart from direction, Bala is also producing the film. The heroines for the project haven’t been finalised yet,” the source revealed. The National award winning director has planned to complete this film in two quick schedules. “The film will hit the screens in the second half of the year. An official announcement on the title, cast and crew of the film will be made soon,” the source added.
