Sumithra joins Valimai cast as Ajith’s mom

Veteran actress Sumithra is the latest addition to the cast of Ajith’s Valimai. We hear from tinseltown sources that the actress, who has been in the industry for 48 years, will be seen as Ajith’s mom in the cop thriller.

This will be the third time that the actors are sharing screen space after Pagaivan (1997) and Veeram (2014). The actress is expected to join the cast once the team resumes shooting later this week. The unit went on a brief scheduled break from November 16 and will now complete the film in one stretch at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. Ajith will be seen sporting two different looks and his character will have different shades. Huma Qureshi is said to play the female lead. Produced by Boney Kapoor, Valimai also marks the actor’s second collab-oration with H Vinoth. Nirav Shah handles the cinematogra-phy and Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music.
